Ludic Method

Today's children are growing up in the digital age. Because their preferences and ways of interacting with the world greatly differ from that of previous generations, they need more innovative and entertaining means of learning. Therefore, the Lingokids program follows the Ludic Method. Children play to learn through this game-based teaching methodology. Playful activities increase student interest and engagement with the content. The games, songs, traceables, and other activities provide moments of discovery and creativity, which are essential for early childhood development. Ludic learning is self-directed, a motivating factor for young learners. Our program is constantly improved because it is based on ongoing educational research. Whether they are using the app or following our lesson plans, students are fully immersed in language learning activities that are relevant, authentic, purposeful, and fun with Lingokids.

Learning Gears™ Adaptive Learning Algorithm of the Lingokids App

The underlying technology behind the Lingokids app ensures that learning is appropriate to each student’s zone of proximal development, the area in which a child is most likely to learn with just the right amount of support . With Learning Gears™, once an initial level is chosen for the learner, the program uses its proprietary hits-and-misses algorithm to adjust the content accordingly. The students who consistently perform well will move up to more challenging vocabulary and increasingly complex grammatical structures. Those learners who are not quite ready for more difficult content will continue to practice through engaging play patterns. The adaptive technology serves as an invisible, constantly evolving, personalized tutor or coach. Students' mastery of content can be assessed in our Test Center.

Blended Learning

Blended learning is mixed-mode instruction. It combines traditional teaching methods with digital resources. We recommend using Oxford University Press as the course books, and complement this with our Lingokids package of teaching materials that includes printables, slideshows developed for classroom instruction, as well as access to our app that can be used both in and out of the classroom.

With the Lingokids app, students can reinforce the learning outside of class in a tailored manner of a self-directed learning study on a mobile phone or tablet, practicing the concepts learnt during class time. Research has shown that blended learning boosts engagement and increases the rate of achievement as students have more control over the pace and direction of their learning.
